THE TECHNOLOGY FOR PRODUCING MARINE HYDROBIONT FEED ADDITIVES FOR THE POULTRY, THEIR FODDER VALUE AND SANITARY EVALUATION
Introduction. Ukraine is a maritime state with a significant raw material base of sea hydrobionts, among which bivalve mollusks – mussels and algae – Phyllophora nervosa, are of industrial importance. In modern conditions, industrial catches of mussels and Phyllophores nervosa for food purposes are conducted in our country: obtaining dietary meat and food agar [1].
The goal of the work was to produce feed additives with long storing period and appropriate fodder value. To achieve the goal it should be tasked the following: to design waste treatment technology, replace the raw material, study the fodder value of the required additive.
Materials and methods. We used the mussels processing waste, agar production waste and seawater. The basis of the processing of mussels in the feed additive was taken “Method of production of feed supplement from mussels” [2]. The quality of mussels waste was studied in accordance with state standart and current veterinary and sanitary requirements [3, 4]. The toxicity studies were conducted using the microbiological method with Colpoda steinii infusoria [5, 6].
Results of research and discussion. As a result of our research, we have developed technologies for treating mussels and algae (Phyllophora nervosa) with the addition of sea water in feed paste to produce: protein - mineral and mineral [10, 11].
Conclusions and prospects for further research: 1. The advantage of creating hydrobiont mineral additive is production of cheap fodder with a higher content of minerals necessary for the poultry. 2. The proposed protein and mineral additive produced from marine hydrobiont wastes will provide the basis for increasing and extending availability of food for the poultry through non-traditional products. 3. The study has established that hydrobiont mineral and protein additive contains all necessary useful substances needed for poultry growth and development. The amount of the substances gradually reduces during their storing period. But even stored for four months protein and mineral additive do not lose their fodder value. 4. Feed additives produced from marine hydrobionts comply with all the veterinary and sanitary requirements regarding their safety and quality and could be used in animal production.
